Wow!  It is such an amazing feeling to sit down and write the first blog for Tana Huffman Photography!  Taking one’s passion and trying to build it into a business is such an amazing journey; a journey filled with hope, tears, frustration, and fulfillment.  I know that this dream would have never even taken flight had it not been for the love and support from my family and friends.  There have been countless moments leading to this point where I have been ready to give up – ready to just go back to shooting for fun and relaxation.  There have been moments of weakness when I have struggled with the intricasies of starting a small business while working full-time and raising two children.  There have been many days that I’ve suffered the affects of lost sleep because I was up most of the night fighting my website and it’s “error” messages or because of computer glitches that occured during simple tasks such as downloading client’s proofs onto a CD; the things that you don’t think about when you think of being a photographer.  It is the little quirks of making photography a business that have been the hardest and most distracting, but it has been those little words of encouragement from my loved ones that have kept me going.  It’s been those hugs that I needed when I was about to break down or better yet, the friendly guidance from others (most times, complete strangers via the internet) when I thought I was going to re-enact an “Office Space” scene with my computer!  So while I still struggle, and while I still bombard photography forums with questions, I feel more empowered and can better hear the always inspiring, Henry David Thoreau, to “Go confidently in the direction of my dreams!”  to “…Live the life (I’ve) imagined…”   

I am excited to be moving in the right direction, and I hope that this is just the first of many blogs for years to come.  I thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting me on this dream!  I look forward to experiencing this ride together!!
