~Happy New Year~
Monday, December 31, 2007 at 8:21 pm | In Personal | 3 CommentsWishing you a prosperous New Year filled with hope, happiness and health! I’ve been amazingly blessed this past year and I’m excited for the opportunities on the horizon for 2008 – both personally and professionally. I hope everyone has an equally exciting horizon ahead of them and I thank each of you for being a part of my life!
So as not to break New Year tradition, what are your resolutions? I resolve to:
1) Eat out (lunch or dinner) no more than once a week;
2) Join a recreational tennis club/team;
3) Finally attend the salsa lessons that I signed up for;
4) Take the family vacation to Hawaii that we’ve talked about for 5 years, but never done;
5) Lose 20 pounds (which should be easy with the help of numbers 1, 2 and 3)
6) Attend a Phoenix Suns game – in Phoenix!
7) Donate a minimum of 100 hours with the Ronald McDonald house hospital and make a difference in a life!
8) Build on my new friendships with you – my clients and colleagues – and make this career as fulfilling as possible.
~~~~~~
There! They’re in writing, now I have accountability which means I’ll have to keep them!
What are yours?
Be safe this holiday and hug your loved ones as we welcome a new year of possibilities and maybe a photo or two?
Happy Holidays!
Thursday, December 20, 2007 at 11:55 pm | In Personal, Photography | 7 Comments2007 has been a year so indescribable and amazing that I honestly can’t believe it’s over and yet, I can’t believe it’s only been a year. On a professional level, I have been blessed with so many opportunities and I’ve grown and learned so much. I have made so many incredible new friends and mentors in this business and I know that without them, I would not be where I am in my career today. I’ve had a lot of learning curves and have rode the ups and downs, sometimes with a tight grip, but I’ve survived them all and have a clear vision of what I want the future to hold and know exactly how I want to get there. I am making many positive changes after the first of the year and will be taking leaps that I would have never considered this time last year. I am excited for the many projects I have the opportunity to participate in, the new designs I am working on and the new clients I have yet to work with. I look forward to another wonderful year of discoveries, experiences and friendship and thank each of you for being a part of that.
Starting tomorrow, Tana Huffman Photography will be on winter break until December 27th in order to enjoy family and all the little moments away from my computer! I will be returning all calls and emails after that date.
So until then, from my family to yours – I wish you a very Happy Holiday!
Rock’n Las Vegas – for photographers
Thursday, December 20, 2007 at 1:52 pm | In Photography | Leave a CommentThere are some exciting things in the works, and there will be full details forthcoming, but I wanted you to take a look at Mark Eric’s site and his new announcement regarding an upcoming shooting workshop to take place at the Red Rock mountains in Las Vegas following the WPPI convention in March. There are many talented photographers involved, and we were thrilled to hear that John Michael Cooper has reserved his spot to join us. Can you say “Whoo hoo!”
Keeping checking in with Don’t Box Us In and Trash the Dress for the big announcement as well – there are some FANTASTIC ideas in the works – you don’t want to miss out!!
My new blog!
Monday, December 17, 2007 at 10:11 pm | In My Website, Photography | 5 CommentsIs it superficial to say that I’m in love with my new blog? Does professing love for my secondary internet home make me a sap? Without fear of sounding reduntant – I love my new blog! Michael Nolan Jordan has been working hard for me and we have just a few little glitches to work out (font size, etc) and we’ll be done – and he’ll be free of me forever!! (He can’t wait for that day to come!)
So kick off your shoes and take a look around at the new format – it will be a snazzy new hang-out from hereon out! Thanks Michael!
Since I’m still playing around with my new settings and I’m going to try to include a picture with all my posts, here are a couple of cute outtakes! You have to love California sunsets!
Vegas Baby!
Saturday, December 15, 2007 at 7:28 pm | In Photography | Leave a CommentOkay, so I’m behind in my scavenger posts… I know. Sorry guys! I actually have a fun reason though – VEGAS BABY!! I thought my blackberry would allow me to post my scavenger hunt pictures while I’m away, but it doesn’t. So as soon as I get home from my weekend get-away, I’ll post away. Today’s assignment was “a house with Christmas lights” and tomorrow’s assignment is “an old car, bus or truck”.
Can’t wait to see everyone’s posts tomorrow! Viva-Las-Vegas…………
Day 9 – an outlandish bird
Thursday, December 13, 2007 at 10:10 pm | In Photography | 2 CommentsOkay, so I approached this assignment thinking I would make it to the zoo or atleast find some funny singing bird at a toy store, but no such luck on either account. So my wild and crazy ideas of finding a bird so wild and so outlandish that you couldn’t help but laugh (think fuzzy hair and Elvis sideburns) has fallen woefully short. So instead, I give you the biggest bird I could find. I suppose a bird is a bird is a bird – right?
Tomorrow’s assignment: “a road sign that has your city’s name on it”
Day 8 – Reflection
Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at 10:32 pm | In Photography | 8 CommentsI’m having so much fun on this scavenger hunt. I have to admit, its hard to keep up and find time during the day, but I’ve received so many nice comments and emails from people checking in on our little game – it really has been a great experience! Thank you to everyone who plays and comments. (Comments are fun – we looove comments!)
Here is my “reflection of some sort”. Taken at my new favorite spot in San Francisco in Yerba Buena Gardens next to the ice skating rink!
Tomorrow’s assignment: an outlandish bird. (I told Lauren this could qualify as a crazy aunt or neighbor – you know, like “Wow! What a crazy bird!” hahaha)
Day 7 – an iron gate
Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at 12:39 am | In Photography | 2 CommentsOkay, according to the rules I’m a half-hour late in posting, but rules are meant to be broken today! haha (see Lauren’s blog)
I just shot a steamy boudoir session and just walked in the door (can’t wait to post the pics – I’m so far behind in client blogging, but I’ll start catching up this upcoming week). Anyhoo, here is my iron gate. Not the best, and I edited it in like 20 seconds, but I should get credit for laying on the ground to capture it while construction workers started to gather – yikes, the things we do for scavenger hunts!
Tomorrow’s assignment – a reflection. Happy shooting.
Client Reminder – last day to order
Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at 10:12 am | In Clients, Photography | Leave a CommentTo my clients: not to inundate you with blog and email reminders, BUT today is the last day to submit all orders that you wish to have before Christmas. This includes cards, canvases, albums and re-prints. Please email or call me with any questions. ~ Merry Christmas
