Danielle and Grant

Some days are just good days. Last Saturday was one of them. An opportunity presented itself to shoot a wedding at the last minute with photographer Will Parris. I had never met Will before, but I knew him from a photography forum that I’m on and knew that he was funny and extremely pleasant, so I figured it would be a fun day. Little did I know that he would have me cracking up the whole day. His zest is contagious and you can’t not smile when you are around him! Besides his humor, he is also very kind and accomodating and he made me feel welcome from the moment we shook hands. The wedding we were shooting was for his brother-in-law and new sister-in-law, Grant and Danielle. I had never met the couple before the wedding and Danielle welcomed me instantly. Besides being an incredibly beautiful bride, I was taken with how calm and poised Danielle was. Her kind spirit was evident by watching her interact with others and in how they interacted with her. Grant was equally inspiring as I witnessed how devoted he was to Danielle, gently stroking her hand or kissing her head when quiet moments arose. Both families welcomed me with open arms, and while I was probably one of the only people there who didn’t already know everyone, by the end of the day, I didn’t feel like an outsider, but rather a temporary member of the family. As Hallmark as it sounds, it is true. I wish all of my weddings were this calm and joyous. I didn’t witness any moments of drama or stress and no mishaps to record!

So thank you to everyone: Danielle, Grant and family & most importantly to Will, for welcoming me and letting me end the year on a great wedding note!!  I hope to shoot with you again soon.

This day was so fun.  I’m hard pressed to find many pictures that don’t involve laughter!

I still can’t figure out if I like this better in black and white or color.

This is my new friend, Daniel, who I believe had a little crush on me!  I seem to have that affect on 5 year olds!

I’m Grant’s mom. I wanted to thank you for helping Will out. It was a blessing for all of us. Thanks for your great work and sweet spirit. I can’t get enough pictures - it’s a mom thing!

  6. Hi Tana,
Thanks so much for being there! We all enjoyed your presence. In fact, I just got off the phone with my dad, who enjoyed conversing with you throughout the day, and he mentioned that it wasn’t until the day was nearly over that he realized you weren’t actually family! You’re welcome anytime–you were a fabulous addition. :)

I started to say that I loved the pic of Grant kissing my forehead, but then realized I’d have to add that I also love the groomsmen’s shots…and the one of my nephew…and… :) They’re all great!

Thanks again for being a part of this day!
